My Dream was working fine and then suddenly it blocked. I couldn't restart it so I turned it off the hard way (the button in the back). When I turned it on, first I get the penguins from satforum and then a question on the TV format, language to use and the time. after I select these, the screen goes black and the Dreambox does not respiond to any commands.
Please tell me how to go about solving this problem.

After first show penquins, push and keep up arrow on the panel until Flash Erase show on LCD

Or you can connect DB with PC with RS232
Disconnect power supply from DB, run DreamUp and click on Connect
Then connect power supply and wait for estabilishing connection
after connection is estabilished then you can click on Erase Flash button

If these thing doesn't work you must upload new image

Thank you Xhans69. I managed to restart it by using the up arrow.
However now all the channels have been deleted. Should I install a new flash to get the cahnnels and packets back?
Can I conect the DB with the computer ONLY by using the ethernet cable or I need the nullmodem cable to serial port as well.

I am new to DB so please can you tell me which image I should install in order to pre=program the cahnnels in packets.
Also please tell me how to install the code keys for scram chanels. Do I need to install the code for each packet seperately or is there one file that I put in which opens them all?

For uploading program setting you must connect DB with PC and use program DCC or DreamboxEdit

Then download some setting from internet and upload it to the DB

You must have some EMUs. Newcamd, Ucas(SCAM), mgcamd, camd3 ...
If you have mgcamd then you need SOFTAM.KEY (byksat.kabel1.cz link Dreambox). If you download this softcam, then upload it to your DB into var/keys. Then push (blue) button to acces EMU menu and push RESTART (yellow)

If you have newcamd or ucas, press blue button twice and select key convert. Then select mgcamd>ucas or newcamd
and restart emu again
