i meen that we have lot of work with develop for new ipbox and don`t have more time for other boxes
it`s may be temporary and we will come back to kathrein again after some time

Anyway. Until no posibility to use AT LEAST plugin api
to dome some really interesting stuffs, I don't understand
why anybody need anything newer :-?

Again: you can't expect any fixes/enhancements in main
OSD application! W/o sources, no way.

Adding dhcp, web if or whatever is really so small
for such type of box! Simply, this is NOT worth
to spend time on such unfriendly system.

It's my 2 cents.

Then Kathrein wont be able to sell more boxes, and then they have on 2 possibility's :

1. Release source to sell more boxes.
2. Release a new box, which they cant sell at all, cause people wont risc to buy yet another unsupported box.

I doubt that it will be number 2, so lets hope for number 1.

That is good decision of SF Team, it is good to stop support, only that pressure on Kathrein to release source . They are now the only company with HDTV Linux based receiver, but also there is comming DGStation CubeCafe and CubeCafe mini , and i think there will be good support for this two STB's by SF Team....

Don't rely on it, SF-Team did the same with DGS as to Kathrein.

I would not trust them for anything.

It's end of open-source boxes, you just have to live with it.

The days are gone with DM7000 where everything was open to anyone.

The companies have huge lawsuits against them if they release all software open-source so i would not count on Kathrein or anyone else to release a HDTV receiver which is fully opens-source.

Nobody needs fully open sources box, if you read carefully, getting
plugin API should be enough.
I really dont want to live it. May be enduser can, but might you
notice that this was toy for us.
